SHIKARPUR - Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Khan Durrani has claimed that PPP will win the upcoming general elections by a big margin, as it is serving the people without any discrimination and has rendered sacrifices for restoration of democratic process in the country. He was talking to media at the residence of Special People Foundation Chairman Agha Muneer Khan Pathan on Thursday.

Durrani said: “PPP has roots in the people who believed in the dynamic leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari, therefore PPP will not make any political alliance to win the elections.”

He said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, other PPP leaders and workers sacrificed their lives for the people to enable them to avail the democratic constitutional, legal and moral rights. Replying to a question about the Rao Anwar, the speaker said that former Malir SSP Rao Anwar and other members of team booked on terrorism, murder and kidnapping charges in Naqeebullah Mehsud murder case while they were also nominated in an FIR lodged at Sachal Police Station on the complaint of Khan Muhammad Mahsud, father of deceased Naqeebullah Mahsud.

“The investigation is being conducted by an inquiry committee comprising AIGP and CTD chief Dr Sanaullah Abbasi, DIG East and DIG South Karachi,” he added.

On the other hand, the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah had taken serious notices on the murder of Naqeebullah Mahsud and rejected the wrong impression of some factions that the investigation team was remaining under the pressure.

According to findings of inquiry committee, Naqeebullah Mahsud was killed in fake encounter conducted by SSP Rao Anwaar in second week of January, he added.

He further said that police officers were responsible for providing security, but they had no licence to kill the innocent through fake encounters which was the serious allegation against police.
