Qurram, Jonita make soulful collaboration Bagiya

LAHORE - The melody of a beautiful voice coupled with the precision of a skilled musician transcends all manmade boundaries. It makes human heart forget about the identity of the vocals producing that mesmerizing sound and the hands working intricately on musical instruments.

Despite being depressed and divided, the modern day man can never resist the way music plays with the strings of soul. That is what Pakistani singer/music director Qurram Hussain and Indian singer Jonita Gandhi has proved once again with soulful collaboration Bagiya.

Though Urwa Hocane and Bilal Ashraf starrer Rangreza failed to leave much impact on audience in cinemas, but its music has won our hearts and touched our souls. With tracks like Abida Parveen and Asrar’s Phool Khil Jayen, Janasheen by Qurram Hussain and obviously the title track Bagiya, the film’s music is still part of our playlists and will remain for months to come.

Jonita Gandhi is nominated as Best Female Singer in Lux Style Awards for her vocals in Bagiya along with Aima Baig for Kaif O Suroor from Na Maloom Afraad and for Sadqa from Chupan Chupai, Nirmal Roy for Raunaq-e-Aashiqui from Punjab Nahi Jaungi and Sana Zulfiqar for Aadat from Arth 2. All these singers are super talented and May the best voice in a particular song wins.

We have seen many Pakistani and Indian singer collaborations but they were mostly for Bollywood. But, it is a good omen that Indian lead singers have also started showing some interest towards our film industry as the situation had always been vice versa in the past. Jonita Ghandi had also collaborated with our Shiraz Uppal for Ae Dil for Punjab Nahi Jaungi. But, her vocals in Bagiya get more attention. The song, written by Tauqeer Bhinder, is composed by Qurram Hussain.

We are seriously hopeful see more musical collaborations among Pakistani and Indian singers for Lollywood. Meanwhile, Qurram Hussain tweeted that Music is a melody of souls and knows no boundaries, so just follow your heart and this musical passion and vote for Jonita nominated as Best Female Singer.
