GUJRAT - A ceremony was held at the University of Gujrat (UoG) in collaboration with NAVTTC to distribute cheques to the successful students under the PM’s Youth Skills Development Programme.

The UoG under PM’s Youth Skills Development Programme offers short courses in PLC photography, hotel management, Bakery, ceramics, documentary and short films. Dr Zia gave away cheques to 175 successful candidates and awarded the other top performers. They all thanked and appreciated the efforts of Deputy Director NAVTTC Abrar Ahmad for the programme success. The ceremony was attended byUoG deans, directors and a large number of students.

On the occasion, UoG Vice Chancellor Dr Zia Ul-Qayyum said, “A skilled workforce is what our country needs to make social and economic progress. I am glad that the University of Gujrat has been playing a very effective role in promoting the national cause through its community development programme.”

He said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will open new vistas of progress and prosperity for the nation, adding there will also be ample employment opportunities for the youth equipped with technical training and skills.

Focal person NAVTTC, Dean Dr Muhammad Suleman Tahir, lauded the government’s efforts in providing the youth with training opportunities to equip them with necessary skills so that they could contribute to the country’s progress.
