At least three persons were killed and over 100 struck by gastro breaking out at Mushkay area of Balochistan's district Awaran, while more deaths feared due to lack of medical facilities in the area. The affected persons finding no help from the local health authorities remain confined to their houses and relying mostly on their traditional modes of treatment. Awaran EDO Health, Naseer Shah unmoved by the gravity of situation still staying away at the provincial capital city, Quetta, while the local elders, Sardar Shahbaz Khan Muhammad Hasni and Naurez Khan told a private TV channel that they were supplying drips and drugs to the gastro patients on 'self help basis' by buying it from the local market, however, they feared that the raging epidemic could not be controlled until the government officials, especially the health department wake up and do the needful.
