KARACHI - A girl was killed in police encounter when five accused tried to escape from the premises of City Court. Police have caught four accused while an accused managed to flee. However, a passerby Sumiya, 16, sustained bullet injury and later succumbed to her injuries on the way to hospital. Police took a seven-year-old boy and an alleged associate woman of accused into custody who was reportedly came to meet them and gave them weapons under the cover of foods. As per details, five members of a gang of Lyari, Arshad Pappu, including Abdul Samad, Abdul Sattar Peeda, Sajid, Bilal, and Talib, were brought to City Court for the hearing when some unidentified accomplices gave them three TT pistols to escape. Police said that the deceased girl was travelling on public transport when a stray bullet hit her. She was the resident of Naval Colony. According to police, the culprits were brought to court from Central Jail Karachi to produce them before the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge South, Irfan Siddiqui. They were booked under several criminal cases of dacoity, kidnapping for ransom, murder and attempts to murder.  Police also claimed that their accomplice came in disguise of visitors who gave them three TT pistols and around 30 rounds after which accuses were slacken off their handcuffs and then tried to escape. The culprits were resorted indiscriminate firing on police and took the rickshaw (07046) to escape. Police personnel chased them and after an exchange of fire they caught four accused including Sajid, Sattar Peeda and Abdul Samad just far from the court premises while an accused Bilal was caught by Karadar police but Talib managed to flee.  Two personnel deployed with the culprits were suspended after the incident while no FIR was registered till the filing of the report.
