It is much easier to be critical than to be correct. This is the belief of All Parties Democratic Movement (APDM) leaders. They think according blame is safer than praise. In the past leaders of APDM had asked President Musharraf to remove his uniform. They had pressured President Musharraf to hold a fair election. We saw many strikes, protest and conferences to put pressure on Musharraf to allow Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif to take part in the elections. They had also strongly demanded that all cases against Zardari and Sharif brothers be cleared. President Musharraf removed his uniform, he allowed Benazir and Nawaz Sharif to come back to Pakistan and take part in elections. Judges threw out all cases against Zardari and Sharif brothers. We saw one of the fairest elections of our history even though the APDM did not take part in it. Now they have started criticizing their old partners PPP and PML (N) too. For APDM leaders, it will not be wrong to say that being ignorant is not so much a shame as being unwilling to learn. -DAWAR NAQVI, Torrance, USA, via e-mail, July 12.
