CHINIOT – On the orders of Additional District and Sessions Judge Ziaul Qamar, the Lalian police have booked its 11 officials, including Umar Draz, Muzammal Hayat, Mubashar, Raza, Qamar Suleman, for ransacking the house of Zehran Bibi without any legal permission and tearing off her clothes. Sources, however, said that none of the eleven cops were arrested.
Land dispute claims two lives: A man and his mother were killed the other day over a property dispute in Mauza Hid on Chiniot-Aminpur Road, some 12-km from here.
Identified as Ijaz Ahmad and Parveen, the victims were killed by one Sheikh Abdul Haq Puri, Abdul Sattar Haral and their four unidentified armed accomplices, when they tried to stop them from destroying the crop sown in the one-and-a-half acre agriculture land with the help a tractor.
Police officials said that although the matter was pending before the court, Abdul Haq tried to forcibly occupy the land and gunned down Ijaz Ahmad and crushed his mother under the tractor in the course of action, and fled. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
Two bikes lifted: Two motorcycles were stolen from the district courts premises here the other day. Sources informed that Mohammad Arshad, a resident of Ameer Colony parked his bike 3555-OKK outside district courts. However, someone finding a chance took away the bike.
The second bike was also lifted from the court premises.
The police have registered separate cases.
