ISLAMABAD - On account of lesser number of police officials, more than 400 officials of Islamabad police have been called back who were attached with various VIPs.
The 400 police officials who are called back have been deployed at various checkpoints, entry and exit point of Islamabad in view to avoid any untoward incident during the holy month of Ramadan.
On the directives of IG Islamabad, duty hours of police officials have been reduced to eight hours from 12 hours hence shortage of staff is resulting in this regard.
The IG Islamabad has forwarded the summary to Interior Ministry on behalf of Federal Police of new recruitments. In the summary it has been told to recruit 25,000 new police officials in the Islamabad police.
He told that security would be tightened around mosques, imam bargahs and other religious institutions during whole month of Ramadan while security cameras would be installed on sensitive places.
He further said that special mobile teams have been formed to maintain law and order situation.
These teams would patrol on roads and bazaars to check anti-social elements during Ramadan.
