KARACHI  – Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan has directed that pace of work on the housing schemes under the Lyari Development Authority (LDA) be speeded up.He was presiding over a meeting regarding the LDA activities at the Governor House here the other day.Dr Ishrat said that apart from the on-going schemes, effective steps be also undertaken for new housing facilities.He instructed that water and electricity be made available at New Malir Housing projects so that the people could start building their houses.The governor also directed the encroachments be removed in collaboration with the Ant-Encroachment Cell. He instructed that the commercial plots be auctioned as early as possible.During the briefing, the governor was informed that at the scheme a solar energy plant would be installed so as to provide electricity to the entire locality. Ishrat was pleased to learn that with regard to plots, 90per cent of the amount has been received.He directed that the development work at the scheme should be completed at the earliest.
