Eid discount family festival from Aug 1

KARACHI - Administrator Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Muhammad Hussain Syed on Wednesday said an ‘Eid Discount Family Festival’ would be held in the City from August 1 to till Eid day to provide people all kinds of items at discounted rates.The administrator said that in the festival, citizens would have the opportunity to do Ramazan and Eid shopping under clean and peaceful environment. He was presiding a meeting about holding of Bachat Bazaars which was attended by Deputy Commissioner Central Dr Saif-ur-Rehman, Administrator DMC Central Nazeer Lakhani, Senior Director Enterprise Shoaib Waqar and other officers.The administrator said all the utility items including milk, vegetables, fruits, cloths, shoes and grocery items would be made available in this family festival on discount rates.  The festival would be held under the patronage of KMC and the district administration and would be directly monitored by the DC Central.He said that special security arrangements would be made for this festival to provide hassle-free environment to visitors whereas beautiful stalls would be arranged in an attractive manner. Discount vehicle parking rates would be applied for this festival as only Rs5 and Rs2 would be charged for parking of cars and motorcycles respectively. Shoaib Waqar, the Senior Director E&IP later while giving a briefing said that the festival would be held in the City Auditorium near Ayesha Manzil and more than 70 stalls would be set up there. Only families would be allowed to visit the festival where 20 to 25 percent discount on various utility items were expected. He said the festival starting from the 12th of Ramzan would continue till the night before Eid. He directed that the availability of quality utility items on discount rates must be ensured in other bachat bazaars run by KMC.Technical School Annual Exam result:  Sindh Board of Technical Education on Wednesday announced the result of Technical School Certificate Part II (Class 10th) Annual Examination 2012.According to statistics, 1,075 candidates appeared in the examination and the pass percentage remained at 64.14.According to the order of merit, Asra Khan of Al-Habib Technical School Orangi Town secured first position with 1,015 marks out of the total of 1,150.Second position went to Muhammad Saad of Government Boys secondary School Orangi Town No. 10 with 999 marks.Syed Muhammad Saad Kamal of the same institution remained third with 997 marks.
