Officers urged to ensure quality foodstuffs

FAISALABAD - On special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, a financial relief has been provided to the masses throughout the province.
The district government employees should make their best efforts to ensure ample supply of daily-use items at “Sasta Ramazan Bazaars” and maintain the quality of the foodstuffs to the expectations of the people at large.  This was stated by Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain along with DCO Naseem Sadid while inspecting various “Sasta Ramazan Bazaars” in different nooks and corners of the city here the other day.
The Commissioner visited Model Bazaar on Jhang Road and Sasta Ramazan Bazaar established outside Iqbal Stadium.  He directed the relevant staff to improve the cleanliness in these bazaars and keep a vigilant eye on the standard and quality of the foodstuff available here on subsidized price.
“Any discrepancy regarding weighing system in the utility items will not be tolerated at any cost,” he added.
On the occasion, DCO Naseem Sadiq apprised the commissioner of the performance and functionality of the complaint centres, security measures taken by the District government and gave him a detailed briefing about the direct purchase system from the producers by passing the middle men which has enabled the administration to provide high quality fruit, vegetables, rice, sugar, ghee and other daily-use item at subsidized rates. Commissioner Tahir Hussain directed the district government to continue monitoring the provision of financial relief to the general public under a well planned sustainable strategy.
