RAWALPINDI –An anti-terrorism court (ATC) here on Wednesday dismissed the application of management of a private bank seeking the detaching of account of former President General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf, an accused in Benazir Bhutto murder case.
ATC No 1 Judge Chaudhry Habib-ur-Rehman set aside the plea of the private bank, which sought defreezing of account of former military dictator since it was freezed after he was declared a proclaimed offender by a trial court. Earlier, ATC No 1 reserved its verdict on the application.
The management of the bank in its plea apprised the court that account opened by their client General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf was of a Trust account and not his personal account. They added that the account did not only belong to Pervez Musharraf as it an account for a welfare trust registered in UK and was jointly operated by an other man Arif Amin.
Therefore, the respected court should detach the account having Rs60 million as it was not personal property of the accused in BB murder case.
