Police net 25 lawbreakers

RAWALPINDI/ISLAMABAD  - Police, under its ongoing drive against anti-social elements on Wednesday, arrested 15 lawbreakers including three suspected dacoits and three gamblers.
Police recovered 2,295-gram charas and one 30-bore pistol with three rounds from the possession of the arrested persons.
Police arrested Arif, Umar, Aamir, Fariad, Zubair, Afzal, Umar and Asad on recovery of drugs and illegal weapons.
Meanwhile, Saddar Baroni police acting on a tip-off conducted a raid in model bazaar area and held three suspected dacoits namely Ishtiaq, Shahid and Sajawel. Two 30-bore pistols with 11 rounds were also recovered from their custody.
In another raid conducted by City Police in Nia Mohallah, three gamblers namely Wali Khan, Liaquat and Dilawar were arrested red-handed while playing cards. Police recovered Rs1810 stake money with two mobile phones.
Meanwhile, Islamabad police arrested ten outlaws including three women thieves and recovered weapons, stolen items and car from their possession, a police spokesman said on Wednesday.
According to details, ASI Ishtiaq Shah from Margallah police arrested a thief identified as Abdul Qadus and recovered stolen items worth Rs 50,000 from him.
ASI Iftikhar Hussain from Aabpara police arrested a thief Atique, while ASI Javed Iqbal from Shalimar police recovered a car (LZS-0772) from an accused Zia ul Haq stolen from Sheikhpura.
ASIs Muhammad Iqbal and Tanveer Raza from Ramna police arrested Naveed Ahmed and Maaz for having one Kalashinkov, one 12-bore gun and 60 rounds. ASI Suleman Shah from Shehzad town police arrested Irfan for possessing 30 bore pistol while Sub-Inspector Muhammad Iqbal arrested Mehmud Ahmed for also having 30 bore pistol.
Similarly, CIA police arrested Tariq Masih in possession of 30 bore pistol while three women Saima, Amina and Sonia were arrested for their alleged involvement in theft activities.
Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons under relevant sections and further investigation is underway from them.
