Wildlife Department foils bid to smuggle four deer abroad

KARACHI - The Wildlife Department officials on Wednesday foiled a bid to smuggle four deer, which were brought from Bhawalpur to Karachi.According to the Game-Incharge of the Wildlife Department Mumtaz Soomro, four deer were brought from the Bhawalpur through Khyber-Mail Train on Wednesday in the City. On a secret information, the Wildlife Department officials raided the Cantt Station in Karachi and seized the deer, which, according to official, were brought here with a plan to smuggle them abroad.The Wildlife Department official further said that the four deer were brought by one Aamir, who had been taken into custody. The official further said that the market value of each deer is more than Rs0.1 million in domestic market, but they are expensive abroad. The deer have been shifted to National Khirthar Park, about 100 km away from Karachi.
