Lahore board holds 66.36pc


LAHORE - Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Chairman Nasrullah Virk declared on Thursday 66.36 percent students successful at an award-giving ceremony at Alhamra on The Mall.
PML-N’s Hamza Shahbaz was the chief guest while Controller Anwer Farooq, Higher Education Secretary Farhan Aziz and other officials accompanied him.  Virk counted his board feats. He said the results can be accessed online and students can also get their result through SMS.
Some 210,145 students applied while 281,771 appeared in the exam, out of which, 138,531 were declared successful. The success ratio of Science Group is 80.78% while Humanities Group registered 51.30% successful candidates. 17,486 students got A+, 20,595 A, 32,138 B, 41,405 C, 25,393 D while 1151 candidates could manage E. Hamza distributed medals among the position holders. The topper, Kianat Akram, was awarded gold medal, Rs20,000 and a laptop. Silver medal and Rs15,000 were  given to the second position holder whereas bronze medal and Rs10,000 each went to to the two third position holders.
