Islamabad- Government has decided to enter into direct talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e- Insaf (PTI).

The government negotiating team will be set up  under interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan with senator Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Saad Rafiq, Pervez Rashid and Raja Zafar ul Haq its other  members. Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Sardar Mehtab Abbasi will assist the team. Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Seraj ul Haq will also be contacted in this respect.

PML-N leadership, after prolonged consultations, reached the decision that all the democratic options be adopted for holding talks with Imran Khan at political level. Pursuing the option of negotiations with Imran Khan does not mean weakness on the part of government but the government wants the matters are  sorted out through reconciliation. If PTI nods no to the talks then a high level meeting of PML-N will take place under Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to evolve strategy with reference to Azadi March. On the other hand PML-Q sources are claiming that Imran Khan, Dr Tahir ul Qadri and Chaudhrys of Gujarat are likely to hold an important meeting at Lahore after Eid ul Fitr to go for a consultation process to work out mechanism for staging joint March against the government.
