Lahore- An anti-terrorism court has extended the interim bail of Superintendent of Police (SP) Security Sulaiman Khan today, who had allegedly ordered policemen to open fire on protesters in Lahore's Model Town, and constable Abid Ali to August 9.

The case was heard by the ATC-lll Judge Haroon Latif. Earlier, the ATC had granted an extension in the interim bail of the two accused in the Lahore tragedy until July 26. On June 17, clashes between supporters of Dr Tahirul Qadri’s Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Lahore police had left at least eight dead and dozens others injured. The initial report of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) constituted to probe the Model Town tragedy had revealed that SP Sulaiman had ordered elite force personnel to open fire on protesters.
