LAHORE - The newly-appointed Lahore operations police chief Dr Haider Ashraf took the charge of his office on Friday. According to officials, on his arrival at the Operations Police Headquarters, the staff and senior officers presented him a warm welcome.  Soon after taking the charge of his office, the DIG (Operations) presided over a high-level meeting and reviewed the crimes and law and order situation in Lahore. On this occasion, Dr Haider Ashraf said that the police would work on war-footing basis to eliminate terrorism from the country. He also asked the police officers to work with commitment and honesty to improve the law and order situation in the provincial metropolis.  A day earlier, the Punjab government transferred Faisalabad City Police Officer (CPO) Dr Haider Ashraf and posted him as Lahore DIG Operations. Dr Haider is recognized as a seasoned officer, who had already served in Lahore as SP Civil Lines.
