KARACHI  - Pakistan Steel Mills faces huge loses due to negligence of K-Electric and would not achieve the target of 20 percent production for the month of July, said Zaheer Ahmad Khan Chief Executive Officer Pakistan Steel Mills.

In a press briefing he informed, in this situation PSM management shut their all production plants apart from Blast Furnace and Coke Oven & By Product Plant and the main reason all behind this continuous loadshedding and break down which badly disturb the strategic water level. Zaheer Ahmand further informed that power crisis in the national asset also damaged the heavy motors and pipelines. The main source of water supply to PSM Gharo Pumping was tripped 44 times during six months and the management tries to contact with the management of K-Electric to resolve the issue but they didn’t take a single notice, he added.  According to the spokesman, PSM and its residential area also face acute water shortage and request the water board to facilitate the consumers from alternate source to control the situation. He informed that it is necessary to maintain the strategic water level of PSM reservoirs water board must be take necessary measures to address the issue on war footing basis.
