Govt increased RLNG price by 25.76pc for SNGPL, SSGC’s consumers

ISLAMABAD - The government has increased the price of Re-liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) by up to 25.76 per cent for the consumers of Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Company Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC) for the month of July. 
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra), increased the provisional price of RLNG for the consumers of both gas companies and jacked up the rates for the consumers of Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) by $2.5834 per mmbtu or 25 per cent while for the consumers of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) it has been increased by $2.5899 per mmbtu or 25.76 per cent, said a notification issued by Ogra.
After the increase, the price of RLNG went up from $10.3326 per mmbtu in June to $ 12.9160 per mmbtu in July for the consumers of the SNGPL. The price of RLNG for the consumers of the SSGCL was also increased as compared with the previous month of June. The price of RLNG increased from $10.0497 per mmbtu during the month of June to $ 12.6386 per mmbtu in July. In July the government imported 11 cargos of LNG, five through the Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and six through spot purchase by Pakistan LNG Ltd (PLL) for the month of July.
The number of cargoes in June was 12, while in May 13 cargoes were imported. The DES price of cargoes imported under long-term contracts of the PSO, the price of LNG is $9.9710 per mmbtu and $10.4445 per mmbtu imported under spot purchase by PLL for the current month. 
The total length of the SNGPL’s distribution network is approximately 122,325 km, supplying around 2,000 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) natural gas to 6.5 million consumers. The distribution network is stretched over 4,345 No towns/villages of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and the Islamabad Capital Territory. SSGC is providing gas to Sindh and Balochistan.
