ISLAMABAD Following secretary-level talks on Thursday Indian Home Minister P Chidambaram, who arrived in Islamabad on Friday to attend SAARC meeting, called on Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to a press note issued by Foreign Office late at night on Friday, Foreign Minister welcomed Home Minister Chidambaram and expressed the hope that the visit would serve as an impetus to the SAARC process and promotion of regional understanding and cooperation. Press note further stated that both Qureshi and Indian Home Minister discussed bilateral issues in detail. The two Ministers expressed the desire for developing friendly, cooperative and good neighbourly relations between the two countries. The need for a sustained and comprehensive dialogue to build trust and confidence was emphasised in the meeting.
