ISLAMABAD (Online) The Public Accounts Committee has ordered to stop payment of Rs 350 million to 35 advertising agencies till the removal of objections raised by the Auditor General of Pakistan. The committee met at the Parliament House here on Saturday under the chair of committee chairman and opposition leader in the National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar. The PAC ordered Secretary Interior Qamar Zaman Ch to withdraw Rangers deployed on security of unconcerned persons within one month. On the occasion, Ch Nisar said Rangers was not a private force and if some one required security police guards would be provided to them. He said a special force would protect the VIPs. It would not be justified to appoint Rangers on security duties, he added. Committee member Riaz Fatiyana said the confidence of people on security forces had been shaken due to recent incidents. Nadeem Afzal Chan said even low level officers in Punjab and Sindh keep security squads with them which should be condemned. On the audit objections regarding cabinet division, the PAC formed a three-member sub-committee under the chairmanship of Nadeem Afzal Chan. The sub-committee will look into the position of nursery given on lease and purchase of 3.59 acres of land by CDA in Banni Gala. On the occasion, CDA acting chairman Waheed told the committee that CDA possessed the 359 acres of land at village Lakhwal near Islamabad.
