KARACHI - The rift between the KESC administration and labour union has not been resolved, causing more miseries for Karachiites. In many areas of the metropolis, cable and PMT faults created worst law and order situation, causing traffic jam here on Saturday. According to details, the outraged people took out to street, burnt the tires and old stuff while strongly shouted slogans against the Karachi electric Supply Company. Following the protest, the different areas included Liaqutabad, Landhi, Malir, New Karachi, Baldia Town, Mochko and Kemari witnessed cripple traffic jam for hours. The riots also broke out when the miscreants started pelting passing vehicles with stones while heavy contingent of law enforcement agencies rushed towards the spot and tried to disperse the people. The government is also a silent observer during this ordeal. Residents said that no one is available to listen to their complaints on KESCs Complain Offices and Help line number 118. Residents of the city are trying to resolve cable faults themselves and complained that 14-16 hours of loadshedding is taking place on daily basis. Sources of KESC informed TheNation that the KESC team reached the SITE store to collect the PMTs, cables and other equipment for repairing the defaults but the union miscreants in large number were creating hazards and not allow collecting the necessary equipments to curtail the miseries fop the citizens. On the other side the CBA union alleged that the KESC is not using the full generation of Bin Qasim Power plan and use gas instead of furnace oil, adding that the out of six units Bin Qasim Power plant the KESC use only two units to supply electricity.
