LAHORE -The Lahore High Court on Tuesday summoned CIA SP Umar Virk on an intra court appeal requesting to arrest former Punjab chief minister Dost Khosa in alleged murder of his wife Sapna Khan.
An LHC division bench comprising Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Abdul Sami Khan directed the SP CIA to appear in person on July 9.
Earlier, advancing arguments on behalf of Sapna Khan’s family, Advocate Azhar Siddique said Civil Lines DSP Safdar Raza Kazmi was investigating officer of the case and on petitioner’s application the investigation was changed.
He submitted the petitioner requested to the LHC that it should supervise the investigation in the light of Supreme Court decision but the LHC single bench did not entertain the petition on ground that the investigation was changed from DSP.
In the present appeal, the counsel argued that even now an officer of DIG rank was not investigating the case and the LHC should supervise the investigation.
He said that on police failure to arrest the culprits and to collect the evidences, seems to have been destroyed by the local police and recovery of the body of Sapna Khan, dead or alive, had made the case a failure and as well as violation of fundamental rights as enshrined in the constitution.
Previously, the family had submitted that Sapna Khan in June 2010 had gone to 12-B Ackmen road GOR-1 the residence of Dost Muhammad Khosa but she did not return.
Misal Khan, Sapna’s father, had alleged Dost Khosa along with his henchmen Muhammad Fahim Amjad, Sajjad Ahmad, Shahir Dawood But, Rana Tanveer, Javaid Yaseen and Shahid kidnapped his daughter and later killed her.
Khosa had also approached the court seeking recovery of his ex-wife Sapna Khan and case against her family. The police had already informed that since June 2010,  Sapna Khan was not seen and her bank account was also not operated and even according to record she had not left the country.
