On the complaint of District Jail Attock authorities, police have arrested three butchers for supplying meat of dead animals to the prison. Tariq, his son Arif and nephew Bilal were caught red handed by jail officials when they supplied stale meat. They have been supplying meat to the district jail under a contract for the last five years. The actual contractor who is officially entitled to supply meat to the jail is Nazir Gul, a resident of Rawalpindi, but the latter had given his contract to the arrested butchers. The city police have booked them Under Section 273/420 and sent them behind bars. Despite an effort, Superintendent Jail Asghar could not be reached for comment on the situation.
