Inter-district U-19 Two-day Cricket

ISLAMABAD - Superb ton by Shahid Gill put Rawalpindi in driving seat against Mianwali on the first day of their Regional Inter-district U-19 Two-day Tournament match here at Marghazar cricket ground on Tuesday. Rawalpindi finished the day one at 466 for the loss of five wickets in 68 overs, thus gaining a match-winning first innings lead of 377 runs with five wickets still intact. Shahid played smashing innings of 184 runs laced with 20 boundaries and five sixes. Ayaz Khan added valuable 78 runs while Aqib Shah remained unbeaten for 71. Earlier, Mianwali, batting first, were bundled out on paltry 89 runs in 21.4 overs. Only Zeeshan batted sensibly and reached the double figures as he contribuited 30 runs. Hamza Sultan, Abdul Wahab and Zaheer Abbas grabbed three wickets each. –Staff Reporter
