ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) Interim Committee secretary Rana Mujahid Tuesday said the 32nd National Games would be held in accordance with the charter of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and all arrangements had been finalised to conduct the mega event in a befitting manner.

Talking to The Nation, Mujahid, who is also the organising secretary of the Games, said: “The IOC charter will be followed and through sports, we will be sending the message of brotherhood, unity and to foster relations among all the provinces and regions of the country.”

"We have already written a letter to the Prime Minister Mian M Nawaz Sharif for accepting our invitation to grace the opening ceremony as the chief guest on June 28," he added. “Pakistan's image can be bettered across the globe through sports and holding of the National Games is a part of the efforts to give a positive message to the outer world that Pakistan is a sport loving country which is safe for hosting elite international sports event,” he added.

He said various committees had been formed and all the necessary arrangements also had been finalised to stage the Games in a trend-setting manner.

“Everyone should follow national sports policy without discrimination and we should work together for the promotion of sports in the country and have to play our role to bring back glory days at international level,” Mujahid concluded.
