Federal Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid has vowed to spare no effort to serve the masses and socio-economic development of the district particularly Pasrur is his top priority.He stated this while addressing the participants of separate receptions arranged in his honour by PML-N workers at Oora Chowk-Sialkot Cantt, Syedanwali, Gadgor Sharif and Chobara-Pasrur on his first visit to his electoral constituency after becoming the federal minister here on Tuesday.The federal minister said that the PML-N government was evolving an effective strategy for the promotion of science and technology across the country besides, ensuring maximum foreign investment in this regard. He claimed that a new era of national development and prosperity had begun in the country under the leadership of PM Nawaz Sharif and the world would soon see a developed Pakistan as the government was utilizing all-out resources for the prosperity of the masses.Federal Minister added that said that the PML-N government was committed to early resolution of all inherited crises on war-footings, saying that only the PML-N had the capability to pull the country out from energy crisis created and aggravated by its predecessor.Zahid Hamid revealed that now the PML-N would make Pakistan Asian Tiger by putting it on the way to national political and economical stability which was the top priority of the present government.He said that people of Pakistan had made the political future of the plunderers as bleak, whom gave a gift of darkness to the masses, who voted them out from the power during the May 11, 2013 general elections in the country.Earlier, he was accorded warm welcome upon his arrival in Sialkot and Pasrur after becoming the federal minister. Sahibzada Syed Amjad Ali Shah (Aastana Aaliya Gadgor Sharif-Pasrur), Rana Muhammad Imran (union council Takhtpur-Pasrur), Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Basra and others were also present on the occasion.Protection of minorities’ religious sites: Gujranwala Divisional Commissioner Tariq Najeeb Najmee along with Narowal DCO Muhammad Yasrib visited temple of the Sikh community (Darbar Sahib Kartarpur Gurdawara Baba Guru Nanak) here the other day. Sikh religious leader Gobindhe Singh welcomed the guest and briefed them about the history of the Darbar Baba Guru Nanik. He said that first Gurdwara was built in Kartarpur on the banks of Ravi River in the Punjab region by the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Jee in 1521. The worship centres were built as a place where Sikhs could gather to hear the guru give spiritual discourse and sing religious hymns in the praise of Waheguru. As the Sikh population continued to grow, Guru Hargobind, the sixth Sikh Guru introduced the word ‘Gurdwara’.
