ISLAMABAD - Turkish government's support to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sports sector will not only promote sports facilities but also improve relations between both the countries.

This was stated by Mehmet Samil Emin, country head for Pakistan TIKA (Turkish cooperation & coordination agency) representing Turkish Prime Minister's office, while formally inaugurating tennis, squash and football academies under the auspicious of Malik Saad Shaheed Sports Truest (MSSST) registered at Qayum Sports Complex, Peshawar on Tuesday.

The inauguration ceremony was also attended by KPK Olympic Association secretary Qamar Zaman, provincial tennis association president Dr M Tahir, secretary Umar Ayaz, Director Sports KPK Tariq Mahmood, Basit Kamal, members board of trustees MSSST Syed Ali Nawaz Gilani, Mazharul Haq, Ziaul Haq Sarhadi and Faisal Khan along with a large group of young players, sports organisers and sports lovers.

Distributing Turkish government gifted sports goods, the visiting TIKA head said: “This is a gesture of goodwill from the government of Turkey and we will lend a helping hand to promote healthy sporting activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”

He also appreciated the MSSST activities and achievements in the promoting sports to the overlook youth of the province and Fata. Emin also visited tennis court at Qayum Sports Complex and distributed rackets, uniform, tracksuits, shoes and balls among the players of tennis academy.
