MULTAN  : An army helicopter crashed near Multan killing two pilots on board, reported a private TV channel. According to ISPR, a helicopter belonging to Army was on a training flight and crashed at Multan airport’s runway, after it developed technical problems. The deceased military men included Major Yasir and Captain Murtaza. The helicopter was on a regular night training mission when it developed fault. The cause of the crash is yet to be ascertained.

Earlier in May 2011, five people were killed as a military helicopter had caught fire mid-air and crashed into the Indus River in Multan . Director General (DG) Rangers, Major General Muhammad Nawaz and his son, are among those killed in this incident along with two pilots and one Rangers’ staff.
