MULTAN : An army helicopter crashed near Multan killing two pilots on board, reported a private TV channel. According to ISPR, a helicopter belonging to Army was on a training flight and crashed at Multan airport’s runway, after it developed technical problems. The deceased military men included Major Yasir and Captain Murtaza. The helicopter was on a regular night training mission when it developed fault. The cause of the crash is yet to be ascertained.
Earlier in May 2011, five people were killed as a military helicopter had caught fire mid-air and crashed into the Indus River in Multan. Director General (DG) Rangers, Major General Muhammad Nawaz and his son, are among those killed in this incident along with two pilots and one Rangers’ staff.
