In his letter in the Nation of May 01, Hashim Abro has accused ‘Our ruling elite’ of failing to do anything productive. How can we even think of being productive when we are doing nothing for the growth of industry and agriculture, which need mega quantity of power and water, which only a mega dam can provide. The party ruling today tried its level best to develop consensus on Kalabagh dam through the Water Apportionment Accord in 1991 but failed to get the support of any right minded people from Sindh, who today are blaming it for being unproductive. You can’t starve industry and agriculture of power and water for 40 years and still expect productivity in the country. With this level of negativity things can only get worse and not better.
