ISLAMABAD Islamabad Falcons defeated Rust Kamra 87-72 in the Pakistan Day exhibition match organised by the Islamabad Basketball Association here at Sector I-8 court. According to a press release, the match was a keenly contested affair as both teams fought hard to take an upper hand. There was very little to choose from at the end of the second quarter as Rust held a 52-51 lead. The third quarter also followed the same pattern. Islamabad Falcons, however, managed to lift their game a little to outscore their opponents 16-13 in that period. It was all Islamabad Falcons in the final quarter. They got their act together to outplay Rust in the last 20 minutes. The hosts gathered 20 points in the last quarter and restricted Rust to just 7. Uzair Ahmed was Islamabad Falcons best player with a contribution of 32 points. Usman Ghani and Rizwan Khurshid also played well for their 13 and 12 points respectively while Omar Iftikhar chipped in with nine. Malik Muddassir led Rust Kamras challenge with 25 points. Waqar Hussain and Taimur bin Abid also had a good game for their 14 and 12 points respectively.
