LAHORE Pakistani cricketers will be working hard on fielding during a preparatory camp for the ICC World Twenty20 championship which gets underway from April 30 in the West Indies. Ijaz Ahmed, Pakistans assistant coach entrusted with the responsibility of helping the team to improve fielding, said on Thursday that he and fellow coaches will mainly focus on fielding during the training camp that starts March 29 in Lahore. Fielding has been our biggest weakness and we will mainly focus on it during the training camp, said Ijaz, a former Pakistan Test batsman. I have special plans which I will implement during the camp to improve our teams fielding, he added. Pakistan flopped miserably in its last major international assignment - a full tour of Australia where it lost all the three Tests, all five one-dayers and a Twenty20 game. Poor fielding was blamed as one of the major causes behind the teams poor showing in Australia. Ijaz was confident that his boys will give a better performance in the World Twenty20 where Pakistan will be defending the title. We will spend almost two hours daily on fielding drills during the camp, he said. Im sure there will be a lot of improvement.
