I am deeply shocked and strongly condemn the desecration of Holy Quran in Florida, USA, by Terry Jones. Pastor Terry Jones has indeed committed an ugly and abhorrent act which has only promoted hatred and ill-will in the society. Such heinous acts are undoubtedly a manifestation of a sick mind, and are totally against the teachings of Christianity which preaches love and tolerance. The orchestration and perpetration of such acts only promote bigotry and spread hatreds and unease in the society. The International community must take serious notice of this tragic incident and take necessary action against persons like Terry Jones to stop the sabotaging of international efforts being taken for interfaith harmony. Bridging the gap between the followers of various religious disciplines is the paramount need of the present age to ensure international peace and avoid the clash of civilizations.
