PM’s Counsel

Of late Aitezaz Ahsan has earned the antipathy of many of his earlier admirers, some of who have ridiculed his rather shallow argumentation leaning on the scepter of Piri Muridi and Gaddi Nashini in the Supreme Court.  Something not becoming the stature of a barrister of his caliber. However, a smart lawyer that he is, he could always win the case by playing upon such words. But, what I am not very sure is that should it happen so, would that not tantamount to weakening the judiciary that he so solidly fought for not too far in the past?  Or, would that not be an act considered against the interest of the country – Pakistan?  Pakistan would stand to lose the purported 60 million dollars which otherwise could come to its coffers.
