KARACHI – Sindh Rangers Director General Major-General Rizwan Akhtar called on caretaker Chief Minister Justice (retired) Zahid Qurban Alavi at the Chief Minister’s House on Monday.

The Rangers director general gave a briefing to the chief minister about the law and order situation in Sindh, particularly in Karachi. The DG also apprised him about an action initiated by the Rangers against criminals and anti-social elements in the various disturbed areas of Karachi.

The chief minister stressed upon the Rangers DG to make coordinated efforts with police and other law-enforcement agencies to maintain order and ensure security of the people.

Alvi said that peaceful atmosphere was very essential for holding general elections, adding that it was prime objective of the caretaker government to hold free, fair and transparent elections.

He directed the Rangers director general to take prompt measures and strict action against criminals and terrorists. CM’s Principal Secretary, Naveed Kamran Baloch, was also present on the occasion.
