LAHORE – Dacoits on Monday swept three homes in different parts of the city and made off with valuables worth Rs3 million, sources said.

Five dacoits walked into the house of Muhammad Afzal in the Faisal Town police limits, held up the family and looted cash, gold ornaments, and other valuables worth Rs1 million.

Robbers barged into the house of Mohsin Ali in the Sundar police limits and took away cash and gold ornaments worth Rs800,000.

Fatima Bibi told the Satu Katla police that three gunmen forced their entry into her house and looted valuables worth Rs500,000. Two armed motorcyclists robbed a family of gold ornaments worth Rs800,000 in the Iqbal Town police area.

Robbers riding on motorcycles also robbed families, motorists, and passersby in the Misri Shah, Ghaziabad, Muslim Town, Johar Town, Lohari Gate, Shadbagh, Garden Town and Iqbal Town police precincts and took away cash and gold ornaments worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. Three cars and five motorcycles were also stolen away from different parts of the city on Monday, police said.

AERIAL FIRING: Six people fired shots into the air outside the Kisan Wing Centre of the PML-N in Sabzazar, police said.

The police booked six accused and launched an investigation. Two of the gunmen were named as Naeem and Zulfiqar. No loss of life or injury was reported in the incident. However, the firing triggered panic among residents.

NABBED: Shalimar police on Monday claimed to have arrested nine persons involved in merrymaking at a brothel house.

Police said that they conducted a raid at brothel near the Sheller Chowk on a tip-off and found five men and four women in objectionable condition. Police have registered a case against them and are investigating.

Arrest: Police claimed to have arrested several members of two families over underage marriage. 

A Shera Kot cop said the families of juveniles Haider Ali and Farzana had scheduled their wedding.

The police raided the venue and detained several members from both the sides including bride and groom after residents told them. No case was registered yet.

FOUND DEAD: Two unidentified men were found dead mysteriously Monday. The bodies were moved to morgue for autopsy. Police said a man was recovered dead from the bus-stand No (3) while a 55-year-old man lying dead alongside road in the Data Darbar area. Police investigators suspected that both the unidentified men were drug addicts. Further investigations were underway.
