QUETTA - A 24-inch diameter gas pipleine exploded in restive Dera Bugti district of Balochistan, on Monday suspending gas supply to some parts of Sindh.
According to sources, unidentified people put explosives under a main gas pipeline in Gopat area, which went off with a huge blast and destroyed a long portion of gas pipeline. Resultantly, gas supply to Karachi and some other parts of Sindh was suspended from the pipeline. Law-enforcement agencies rushed to the site after the blast and cordoned off the area.
Banned outfit Baloch Republican Army claimed responsibility for the blast.
