BAHAWALNAGAR - An intruding jaguar was killed in alleged fight with a herdsman and his cows here in the remit of Marot Police, some 150-km away from here on Monday.

According to details, a herdsman known as ‘Haji’ was herding his cows along with his two companions in Chak 308 Bhatianwala in Cholistan area some 150-km away from here. Meanwhile, all of sudden a jaguar appeared from Cholistan desert and attacked ‘Haji’ who put up resistance and counter the beast gallantly.

Whereas his two companions ran towards a nearby village and called the villagers for help. In the meantime ‘the faithful cows’ also joined the fight to save their master as both ‘Haji’ and the beast received several injuries. Meanwhile the villagers rushed to the scene spot and shot at the ‘jaguar’ due to which ‘the intruder’ who was badly injured due to the repeated attacks of cows, killed on the spot. However “Haji’ was shifted to nearby hospital and stated to be in stable condition.

The news spread in the area like a wildfire and a large number of people rushed to the scene. Meanwhile, District wildlife Officer Jam Zulfiqar told that the dead body of the beast would be disposed off after conducting autopsy. People hailed the bravery of the human and faithfulness of his ‘cows.’
