ISLAMABAD - Women Empowerment Literacy and Development Organisation is organising a job fair for trained individuals in April with an aim to facilitate them in getting suitable jobs.

WELDO Project Coordinator Tabassum Hayat said trained individuals will be able to meet the representatives of the biggest companies and hopefully will be employed through this job fair to be held in Islamabad. The organisation has been operating in Pakistan since 2003; their projects mainly focus on the reintegration of Europe returned Pakistanis into the society.

This organization has a number of highly qualified and skilled staff members who over the years, have helped hundreds of people by providing them professional skills, technical education and also helped them to start up businesses. WELDO also assists these trained individuals in getting respectable jobs overseas and in Pakistan, so that, they can earn their living honorably and become a useful part of the society.The WELDO has so far contacted 330 individuals and about 100 individuals have achieved certifications in basic skills, such as Electrician, Plumbing, Mobile repairing, HTV driving.

Out of 100 individuals WELDO has bought 10 mobile repairing kits, about 25 were given electrician/plumbing tools. About 30 individuals have done Security/Health & Safety courses, 5 of them were placed in jobs in Pakistan and the rest are referred to recruitment agencies who will be recruiting them for Middle East. 25 are enrolled in HTV and construction training.

Moreover, 30 individuals have done IT courses, 3 of them are placed in IT job and rests of them are being career counseled.  150 individuals are in the process of enrollment or are doing their courses.
