KARACHI – Following the directives of caretaker Chief Minister Zahid Qurban Alvi, Karachi Commissioner Has-him Raza Zaidi has issued orders for cancellation of all permits for tinted glasses for government and private vehicles on an immediate basis.
According to a statement issued here on Monday, Zaidi requested the Home Department to impose Sec-144 on tinted glasses, fancy number plates, emergency vehicle lights, and vehicles with AFR number. He ordered the law-enforcement agencies to take strict action against such type of vehicles.
Addressing a meeting at his office, the commissioner directed officials concerned to take strict action without any discrimination against vehicles violating the laws. He also ordered for deployment of more contingents of traffic police on roads in the metropolis for carrying out the campaign.
He directed that owners of such vehicles should remove all illegal items from their vehicles within 24 hours.
