Three killed, two wounded in violence



KARACHI – At least three people including a youth were killed and two others injured in different acts of violence in the city on Monday.
A young man bearing torture marks was found dead near a drain in Maripur area. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities. Identity of the victim could not be ascertained. Police said the body was three days old.
In another incident, a police constable was gunned down in Sultanabad area within the precincts of Pirabad Police Station. The armed assailants, however, managed to flee from the scene.
Similarly, the owner of a thread factory identified as Kamran, 35, was found dead near Darani School in North Nazimabad area.
Separately, Muhammad Fahim, 22, son of Irshad, was injured in firing by unidentified armed men in Landhi No 4 within the remit of the Landhi Police Station. The injured was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center for treatment.
Similarly, a man, Ziauddin, son of Salahuddin, was injured in firing by unknown bike riders near Shaheen Hotel in Shershah in the premises of Shershah police station. The injured was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
