ISLAMABAD - Former Test cricketer, manager and ICC match referee Col (r) Naushad Ali has said that Bangladesh is a very tough nut to crack and they have always given tough time to Pakistan whenever they face the green shirts either in T20 or ODI.

Talking to The Nation on Tuesday, he said: “Dhaka always remain a happy hunting ground for the hosts so Pakistan must not take the opponents lightly. They are very balanced and combined unit having the services of few world class individuals in their ranks.”

He further added: “Pakistan should bat first after winning the toss and try to post a decent total on the board to back the bowlers and give them a real chance to defend. Pakistan must not depend on just spin bowling but the fast bowlers must have to deliver for the sake of the team and the country. Umar Gul is a world class bowler so should bowl with potential to provide early breakthroughs to the team and if he succeeds in doing so, the victory for the green shirts will be obvious.”

“I think the team management should include Junaid Khan as he is a very good wicket-taking bowler. HE is good enough to bowl well in early part of the innings and can provide wickets at the depth overs too. Pakistan should enter the match with three fast bowlers. The team management should decide between M Talha and Bilawal Bahtti but I think Talha can bring the added spice in the bowling department with his express pace, but it depends on what lines the team management and especially captain is thinking,” Col Naushad asserted.

Sharing his views on Australian match, he said: “Planning of skipper Hafeez and the team management paid great dividend. Every one contributed well including captain Hafeez and Zulfiqar Babar but I must give loads of credit to batting sensation Umar Akmal as I never witnessed such an outstanding knock from the young lad. It was very positive move by the skipper to promote Umar Akmal and sent him to bat at No 4, a place which suits best to his style and helps him a great deal.”
