A 24 members business delegation from Yantai Federation of Commerce and Industry, Shandong China will spend a busy day in export-oriented Sialkot city here on Wednesday (today).

SCCI President Dr Sarfraz Bashir told the newsmen here that the delegation of Chinese investors and businessmen would visit Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) to discuss in details matters of mutual interest, besides, exploring opportunities for Chinese investment and joint ventures in different fields under the active collaboration of Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He added that the primary objective of Chinese investors’ visit was to explore trade and investment potential in different trade fields.

Taking into consideration the rising labour cost in China, they are also endeavouring to expand their business portfolios especially in labour intensive industries in Pakistan, he added. Chinese delegation will also visit several leading industrial units in Sialkot to witness international standard craftsmanship of Sialkot-based artisans, besides, holding businessmen to businessmen meetings in Sialkot during their daylong visit.

Rectification of water filtration plants on cards: The provincial government has decided to rectify 32 water filtration plants, lying out-of-order since, besides replacing filters of 566 water filtration plants established in Gujranwala Division’s all six Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahaudin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts to ensure provision of potable drinking water to the masses.

According to senior officials, the Local Government Department has already issued orders for early rectification of the above-mentioned out of ordered water filtration plants within a stipulate period of coming next two weeks, besides, issuing special directions to ensure replacement of the filters of the said water filtration plants every month, in this regard.
