Islamabad- The United Nations says more funds are urgently required to tackle the nutrition crisis in the drought-affected Tharparkar region.

This has been stated in a statement by United Nations Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Pakistan, Timo Pakkala. He said there are reports of a rise in number of malnutrition, clinical admissions and child mortality in Tharparkar . Meanwhile, Coordinator to Sindh Chief Minister Taj Haider said over one hundred thousand wheat bags have been distributed in the drought-hit areas. In a statement, he said over fifty five thousand patients including children have also been provided medical treatment.
