In a tweet, the US Embassy wrote that "We have lost two legendary women of Pakistani Tv industry Haseena Moin and Kanwal Naseer."
Haseena Moin was great dramatist who was renowned for making women characters in dramas more authorized and Kanwal Naseer was first Presenter of Pakistan, the tweet read.
Haseena Moin was Pakistani dramatist, playwright and scriptwriter. She wrote several plays for stage, radio and television, some of which have even gained international repute. She wrote Pakistan's first original script 'Kiran Kahani' aired in the early-1970s. Her drama serial Dhoop Kinare aired in 1987, and was famous in Pakistan as well as India.
On the other hand, Kanwal Naseer was a Pakistani journalist at Pakistan Television Network, having the honor of being Pakistan's first female news presenter and anchor. She made her first appearance for PTV on 26th November, 1964. In 2015, She was awarded the Pride of Performance by President of Pakistan.
