LAHORE - Pakistan will play their last match in Germany against Rot-Weis Koln on Monday, the contest which has been billed as a 'testspiel' since seven players of the Olympic bound German team including their World Cup star Cristopher Zeller will be playing in this encounter. The match will start at 8 pm local time (11 pm PST) at Rot-Weis Koln ground. Pakistan will be sorely missing captain of the team, deep-defender Zeeshan Ashraf, who couldn't take part in the second Test against Germany due to hamstring injury while striker Waqas Sharif has been incapacitated due to groin injury. Thus for chief coach Khwaja Zakauddin the problems have been multiplied as striker Shafqat Rasool couldn't make for the German tour too. Without doubt goalkeeper Nasir Ahmed, with his fine performance, has replaced Salman Akbar but with Zeeshan's injury, options for the coach are limited as Muhammad Ateeq and Muhammad Imran have to extend their stay on the field. In the midfield Javaid, Saqlain, Kamran and Fareed along with an additional midfielder will form the frontline defence. Since Pakistan will be playing with four forwards, it is expected that experienced Rehan Butt, Shakeel Abbasi and the youthful lads Haider Abbas, Muhammad Shabbir, Waqas Akbar, Muhammad Zubair will form the attacking line-up. In between these matches, Pakistan had been invited to play a friendly match at Venlo (Holland) against Venlose hockey club as the club was marking their 80th anniversary. Pakistan won the match 12-2. Pakistan team will leave for France on May 28 where they will be playing three matches before moving on to Belgium.
