The Islamabad-Rawalpindi Expressway was opened by Prime Minister with great fanfare as if he had nothing more important to do on the day. On this so-called expressway, there are five speed-breakers of wrong specifications. The CDA was to build five overhead bridges for pedestrians but only one has been completed as yet. The second of these five bridges has remained incomplete for the last many months for unknown reasons. This is more of a 'depressway' than an expressway for commuters. Will the CDA please wake up to the commuters' plight? -MOHAMMAD YASIN, via e-mail, May 13.
