Islamabad High Court Tuesday reserved verdict over a petition for bringing Dr Aafia Siddiqui back to Pakistan from the United States. Petitioners lawyer Barrister Javed Iqbal Jaffery in his arguments before the court of Justice Raja Saeed Akram said that the government was failed to take serious steps for bringing Dr Aafia Siddiqui back to home despite the court orders. Dr Aafia can die in detention if she would not bring back, the lawyer said. Deputy Attorney General Raja Aleem Abbasi in his arguments said the government was taking all possible steps on the matter. The issue was also discussed in President Asif Zardaris recent meeting with the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the government lawyer said. The court reserved the verdict on the petition till June 3.
