ISLAMABAD-PTV Central Employees Union hailed the donation of 14th PTV Award Show income to the internally displaced persons (IDPs). The meeting of the office-bearers of PTV Central Employees Union was held here on Monday at the residence of Unions secretary general, Malik Shabir Ahmad in which the union expressed its concerns over negative propaganda against state-run TV. The PTV Central Employees Union also resolved to stand by the government and the whole nation in the times of crisis. The union expresses its grave concerns over the fact that some private TV channels have launched a baseless propaganda against the positive policies of PTV which is the lone mouthpiece of governments constructive policies, says the press release. The PTV union has urged all critics of the government and state-run TV to must not indulge in politicking in the times when the country is passing through critical times. The nation needs unity and the miscreants must not embark on the agenda of destroying national institutions, the central employees union further said. The union in its meeting also decided to unveil those elements which were working against PTV and very soon a delegation of union would call on Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and Federal Information Minister, Qamar Zaman Kaira to apprise them of the real facts behind ongoing tussle in PTV.
